Well this is my first post in my new blog and I hope it will be the first of many.
My chosen subject for my inaugural post is the Forth Rail Bridge, a subject that has been depicted many times by fellow photographers but one nevertheless that I dearly wanted to capture.
I set off with a good friend who had local knowledge and experience of the area, to North Queensferry. I quickly located the spot I was searching for and set the camera (my Nikon D600 in this instance) on the tripod and began capturing numerous images, using various settings and positioning the camera around the vicinity hoping to find that ideal shot.
My preferred shot from that cold winter’s night in January 2014 is the one displayed. I particularly like the assortment of oranges and yellows, which in conjunction with the shadows and reflections makes this one of my favourite photos.
